This English language edition contains words of all languages, the explanations being in English. Designed as the lexical companion to Wikipedia, the encyclopaedia project, Wiktionary has grown beyond a standard dictionary and now includes a thesaurus, a rhyme guide, phrase books, language statistics and extensive appendices. We aim to include not only the definition of a word, but also enough information to really understand it. Thus etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations are included. TypesA Midas repair shopSome auto parts stores also maintain service operations. Examples include Pep Boys, Walmart, and Sears Auto Center. There are also independently owned and operated businesses, and regional or national chains and franchises. Examples of chains and franchises include Midas and Firestone Complete Auto Care. A third type of repair shop is the service departments of car dealerships. GNU Free Documentation License What are the effects of long term (automobile) exhaust fumes exposure while pregnant? Q. I work full time as a secretary at an automobile repair shop. My boss continuously props the door open between my office and the shop - which results in large quantities of exhaust fumes coming into my work area. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any sites with info on what the effects of this kind of exposure could be on myself and baby. (I get up and close the door whenever my boss opens it, but he continues to do so...) I'll also be checking with my doctor at my next appointment, but would like to find out more before hand... I have searched the web but haven't really found much on the topic. Thanks!! Asked by ezza - Wed Apr 30 14:51:20 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well exhaust fumes can kill you! So it can't be good for the baby. I'd tell your boss that the doctor said you shouldn't be exposed to exhaust fumes even though they may not have yet. And if they keep opening the door keep telling him! He needs to conform to your needs or be susceptible to a law suit. Pregnant women have a lot of rights at the work place. Answered by bolton510 - Wed Apr 30 14:57:16 2008 Business Law question? Q. Please help me with this: Mark, a minor, operates a one-man automobile repair shop. Rose, having heard of mark's good work on other cars, takes her car to Mark's, while overhauling Rose's engine, carelessly fits an unsuitable piston ring on one of the pistons, with result that Rose's engine is seriously damaged. Mark offers to return the sum that Rose paid him for his work, but refuses to make good on damage to her engine. Can Rose recover from Mark in tort for the damage to her engine? why? Explain Asked by daoptimusprime - Wed Apr 23 14:40:48 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The general theory of torts of negligence is Duty-Breach-Causation-Dam age. Mark's duty was to conduct the repair competently. The question here is whether that was done, or if he breached that duty. If "unsuitable" basically means "wrong" as in for another type of car entirely, then that would be a breach. He might avoid it if it were a fault of the part supply house, mislabeling the item, but that's probably not the case. That breach caused the damage. Yeah, she can. Answered by open4one - Wed Apr 23 14:55:32 2008 I made an automobile insuance claim in an accident that we were at fault?
Q. we rolled behind into the other party's car in a rental car (we took out the CDW insurance) at the time we exchange insurance information. I called my insurnace and made the claim. A year and half later the other party never followed up therefore, no money nor repairs were reported from either side. Now!!! I'm shopping around for auto insurance and I am being pentalized for making a claim and the insurance company didn't have to pay for anyhting. My insurance has gone up at least 25% for that claim. Does anyone know if I can get the remove from my insurance company and how long does a claim stay on your insurance?? Thanks for all the feedback...my insurance is held in Las Vegas, NV. Asked by Cantfigure - Wed Oct 10 12:37:25 2007 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. An at fault loss is an at fault loss whether money exchanged hands or not. The CDW covers the damage to the rental, your liability coverage pays for damage to the other car involved. No you can't get it 'removed' from your CLUE report, what you can get is a 'Letter of Experience' showing any claims and what was paid out under the BI and/or PD portion. This may or may not help, but it's worth a try. BTW...in NV, the other person has 3 years from the date of loss to present their claim--but this has no bearing on fault. Also in NV claims follow you for 36 months. Answered by bundysmom - Thu Oct 11 00:35:17 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "automobile repair shop" Auto Repair Advice: Learn To Speak " Auto Tech"
